Committed to words
Successful author Jonathan Falla gave an excellent talk on how to make any sort of writing interesting to the reader, whether it be Children's book, Travelogue, or even Historical novel. He also explained how to develop them into published projects at the same time. Many searching questions were asked by the large audience, but Jonathan more than satisfactorily answered them all.

Poetry Performance
Patience Agbabi is considered to be one of the UK's most important poets, and, in this special performance we soon discovered why. The startlingly invigorating and powerful voice in her poetry demonstrated the potency of the poem. Literary Dundee, and the Salon series, were graced by this tour de force in a session which will long be remembered by all those who were there.

How We Read Now
A revolution is taking place in the book world, and David Graham and Peter Collingridge of Enhanced Editions are at the cutting edge of development. In this evening's special event they explained about the inevitable coming of 'apps', and 'e-books', in a way that was enlightening and a little frightening. The evening also incorporated readings by some of our Creative Writing programme students, making this a doubly enjoyable session.
Literary Salons have become an important part of our developing creative life here at Dundee - and are a great way to meet leading writers, publishers and agents from all over the UK, ask them questions about their work and writing practice and get top tips and advice about how to develop your own literary career.
Past guests have included both new and established writers - from first time Faber novelist Ruth Thomas to multi-prize-winning Douglas Dunn, Meaghan Delahunt and Michael Schmidt - as well as - dbc pierre's agent Clare Conville, Literary Director of The Scottish Arts Council Gavin Wallace, Canongate Editor Francis Bickmore, and others.
