Dundee Literary Salons
The Dundee Literary Salons series was conceived by Dundee University's Professor of Creative Writing, Kirsty Gunn, as a way of bringing together members of the Dundee community in a relaxed, informed but informal environment to meet with publishers, writers and agents to discuss writing, culture and ideas.
The Salons are like no other 'Reading' or 'Lecture' or 'talk' on offer anywhere else - in Scotland or beyond - breaking down the barriers that all too often inhibit the growth and expression of cultural life for ordinary people.
Instead here is a forum in which everyone's ideas matter, irrespective of professional background, taste or experience.
Now in the their 5th year, Dundee Literary Salons are a key element of our continuing and developing cultural and literary life at Dundee.
Come along and be inspired and engaged by this years line up of exciting guests.
The salons run from 5.00-7.00pm in DCA, Nethergate, Dundee.
They're completely free and seats will now be available on the night itself on a first come, first served basis, so get there early.

Allan Wilson
Allan Wilson is the hot new property of the Scottish publishing world - his debut collection, "Wasted in Love" has garnered praise from such luminaries as Tom Leonard and Alan Bisset, who wrote that Allan "might just represent the future of Scottish fiction." High praise indeed! Come along and catch him while you can, as he talks about his experience of being a first time writer and where he goes from here.

Rodge Glass
It seems there's very little that Rodge hasn't done in the world of literature. He has brought out two critically acclaimed novels and a hugely successful biography of Alasdair Gray; co-authored the graphic novel "Dougie's War"; edited short story collections, been a writer in residence and taught at the University of Strathclyde! Here tonight to talk about his brand new novel, "Bring Me The Head of Ryan Giggs", an evening with Rodge is sure to be illuminating and entertaining.
